Burns Suppers
A celebration of the poet Robert Burns can be traditionally formal, casual as you want to be, or anywhere in between. We are happy to help you plan your event, perform all the music, and if your friends are cowards, stand in for them as needs be. Schedule in advance!!
Note: we do not cook, smuggle haggis or bartend.
Traditional Format
- Drinks with Scottish music
- Welcome by the Chair, introduction of the speakers
- The Selkirk Grace
- Piping in the haggis
- The Address to the Haggis (get your drinks ready)
- The first entertainment (Ae Fond Kiss or similar)
- Dinner (haggis, neeps and tatties and a pudding, of course). Don’t forget the vegetarians!
- The Immortal Memory Speech
- The second entertainment (e.g. Green Grow the Rashes O)
- Toast to the Lassies
- The third entertainment (A Man’s a Man For All That)
